Adobe and Department of Education, Learning and Teaching Branch are pleased to announce the EOI date for Adobe ‘Have a Voice’ has been extended until Friday 28th April.

Groups of students are invited to create a video story (maximum of two minutes), animation (maximum of one minute) a website/web page or poster about a topic or issue that is important to the group of students (minimum of two per group) using at least one Adobe product.

The Showcase

Schools can enter a maximum of five entries for the official end of year Showcase, however they can have as many groups create a project as they like. Each school will need to determine which groups will represent the school.

Selected entries will also be promoted on the DET FUSE site and by Adobe Education publications.

These full-day workshops walk school leaders and staff through the process of developing a long-term school ICT Plan that:

• address the learning and teaching goals of the school
• develop a sustainable ICT plan that meets the needs of the school community
• ensure a coherent team approach to ICT planning involving school leaders, ICT  co-ordinators, curriculum co-ordinators and technical support staff.

Robogals Melbourne would like to cordially invite you and your female students to our Girls in ICT Breakfast on the 27th of April.

The event will be held for the benefit of female secondary aged students to learn more about future careers and pathways in STEM and ICT. It will feature a panel of speakers from established figures in STEM industries, and workshop for the students to have the opportunity to talk directly to female role-models in relevant areas.

If you’re interested in attending/sending students, please forward the names of up to 4 girls in Year 11-12 and a supervising teacher (if necessary) along with their dietary requirements to melbourne.partnerships@robogals.org. Places are limited so please RSVP ASAP.

This event will be free of charge and provides an opportunity to promote careers in STEM fields for your students.

The eSafety Commission’s Teacher Essentials PD Program delivers professional development through 3 x 50 minute webinars.
The three topics currently presented are:

• Building Digital Intelligence
• Teachers, technology and the law
• Navigating the eSafety website

New sessions will be added regularly throughout the year.

The course would comply with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers

Professional Practice Standard 4.5

Use ICT safely, responsibly and ethically Incorporate strategies to promote the safe, responsible and ethical use of ICT in learning and teaching. Victorian teachers can use this PD for the Victorian Institute of Teaching accreditation.

Adelaide Uni is conducting a survey of secondary school Digital Technologies teachers across Australia to identify areas where and how improvements could be made, for instance in resourcing, curriculum, industry involvement, or diversity in the classroom.
