The Melbourne City Experience project is a collaboration between 30 plus cultural organisations within the Melbourne CBD to offer education programs to school students. The professional learning day is an opportunity for teachers to participate in one of several trails to help them in their planning of a city experience for their students.

Representatives from each of the 30 participating cultural originations will be available throughout the day to provide advice and information about their programs as well as tips and tricks for planning multi-site excursions. Leaders in location-based learning design will present ideas on how to develop rich, authentic learning experiences unique to Melbourne.

Teachers are asked to bring along a smart device to access information about venues and programs. The ‘Fast Five’ session will provide an opportunity to share information about new technology/apps tjhat could be incorporated into a City Experience program.

This event is usually of particular interest to Year 9 teachers, however teachers from both the primary and secondary sector are welcome.

The full day program is this year, being hosted by Arts Centre Melbourne on Monday 13 November 2017 from 8.45am – 3.30pm (registration from 8.30 am).
