GSuite Professional Learning Workshops

G Suite ‘ Getting Started’ Workshops for Term 4, 2018

Previously known as Google Apps, these full-day G Suite workshops are designed to support DET school leaders and teachers just starting out, as well as those who have been driving their own learning with G Suite. Participants are introduced to the key apps in the suite, presenting a school focused approach in their use for administration, learning and teaching. The workshop will provide some tips and tricks, while discussing a holistic set up for different learning environments and settings, providing examples using both the SAMR and 4 C’s models. Register for one of the workshops below to make the most of Google Drive, Docs, Slides, Forms, Sheets, Sites, MyMaps, Drawings and, of course, Google Classroom.

Register Now ! For the Student Blogging Challenge

Registrations are now open for the 21st Student Blogging Challenge beings on October 7, 2018.

Kathleen Morris has made a short video to give you an overview of what the free challenge is all about. Head here to register and share with others who might be interested.

The ten-week challenge begins on October 7 and wraps up before the Christmas break in mid-December.

Each week, there will be a new post published with some materials to learn about blogging e.g. writing posts, commenting, using images etc. There will then be a choice of tasks that students or classes can complete to develop their skills while connecting with other blogging classes worldwide. Participants can register as a class or as an individual student. There’s also the option for teachers to volunteer as a commenter throughout the challenge. This is a great way for students and teachers to learn about blogging!
